2Alpha Racing - The Annas!

We are two girls named both Anna who have come together to build a team and community that supports racing and training across all disciplines of cycling. Our mission is to inspire more women to begin cycling for not only the enjoyment but also to explore their limits with competitive racing. We are local San Luis Obispo and race all over the country in cross-country mountain biking, gravel, and road. Previously, we have been competitive athletes in ski racing and cross country/track running but found cycling to be a place where we find joy and can chase big goals. We are excited to keep growing this community and supporting other athletes.

RUNNING

Gordon’s story of endurance sports is one of overcoming personal health challenges. After running 3 marathons in 2012, he was diagnosed with partial complex seizures in 2013. His competing days nearly came to an end. However, since then, he has battled back and passed his previous accomplishments through dietary and spiritual disciplines.

Accomplishments from 2021: 2nd place overall at Fawn Lake Half-Marathon, qualified for and ran the Boston Marathon, placed in my age group in 3 races, and recovered from a stress fracture.
Goals for 2022:
Running 3:30 in the Boston Marathon in April and staying injury free.

ULTRARUNNER

I'm a recent graduate of Cal Poly in Civil Engineering and am working towards becoming a licensed Civil Engineer. I grew up around Ultrarunning as my family roots dig deep in the sport. I completed my first ultra when I was maybe 7 years old, competing in a 24-hour race and doing just enough to eclipse the coveted marathon mark. Since, I haven’t stopped – completed numerous ultras, including 10+ 100-milers. 2021 was a great return to racing highlighted with my 4th finish at the Leadville Trail 100, and my completion of the Moab 240 Endurance Run. I recently discovered Fluid and used it as my sole electrolyte replacement drink during Moab. I sipped on it constantly for just over 4 days and had zero stomach issues! I’m excited for my growing calendar of races in 2022, and can’t wait to toe the line again!

Accomplishments from 2021: Moab 240 Endurance Run and my 4th Leadville Trail 100 Run finish.
Goals for 2022: Run all 365 days of 2022, finish the Leadville Trail 100 Run for the 5th time, and do at least 1 other 100-miler.
Favorite Fluid flavor: Cinnamon Vanilla Recovery

ULTRARUNNER

I live in Southern California. I’m best known for accomplishments in Ultra running. But as long as I’m in the mountains, I’m happy. I love technical, high altitude trails, I find peace and grounding there. I have 42+ Ultras under my belt, 7 of them 100 Milers; Angeles Crest, Chimera, Zion, Ouray and Tahoe, to name a few. 6 in top 10 female category.

Accomplishments from 2021: My 2021 accomplishments were to stay healthy. But, I really enjoyed pacing my friend, Luke Ullett, to finish his first 100 miler. We ran through the night at Big Bear Kodiak and finished strong. The accomplishment that I am most proud of didn’t come from running but did require commitment and dedication. I purchased my own home.
Goals for 2022: January was the annual Mt Wilson, “Make it a Double” event. A challenge to run 28 miles with 10,000 feet of elevation gain. You can do as much or as little as you’d like. Also, tentatively the Mt. Mitchell 40 miler in North Carolina and an unofficial Backbone 69 in March. In May, I’ll cross Grand Canyon with a back-to-back rim to rim. Also aiming to qualify for NYC Marathon. In July I'm working in Europe... I’ll find some trails while I’m there. When I get back, I'll fast pack in the Sierras North to South lake, and summit Mt. Russell, a 14er in CA.
Favorite Fluid flavor: Cinnamon Vanilla Recovery makes me want to EARN my recovery. I can’t wait to chug it down after a day of being beat up on a mountain run.
A song that fires you up: My favorite victory song is This Girl is On Fire! by Alicia Keys. “She’s got both feet on the ground and she’s burning it down...” You know the rest.

Marathon Runner that runs anything from 400 meters to Ultra marathons. From flat races on a Track to Ultra marathons in the mountains.
Some of my goals for 2021 include running a 2:40 marathon at the young age of 40 :) And also to enjoy and have fun training.

I also hold a few other local FKTs including Around Mt. Adams. This year, I plan to continue my outlandish quest to set speed records on all the Cascade Volcanoes. More specifically, I would like to spend some time and see what I am capable of on the two biggest and most competitive of them all, Mt. Shasta and Mt. Rainier. I'm also signed up for a couple races, the Backcountry Rise 50k and Run the Rut 50k.

CYCLING / PARATRIATHLON / ADAPTIVE CLIMBING

Goals for 2022: I'm shooting for a top 3 at MTB and cyclocross Nationals. Plus, I'd like to do more mountain bike and cyclocross racing in general. Above all, I want to continue to have fun on my bike!
Favorite Fluid flavor: Raspberry Lemonade Performance, Chocolate Recovery

TRIATHLON

Chris is a resident of San Diego, California. He has been racing triathlons since 1998, and coaching the sport with Breakaway Training since 2010. Prior to getting involved in the sport, Chris competed as a swimmer, hockey player, and volleyball player. Chris’ passion is to help other athletes achieve their triathlon dreams. He has won the Mission Bay Triathlon, one of the longest running triathlons in the world, and considered by many to be the birthplace of the sport.

Accomplishments from 2021: I wish I had more to say, I fell off my bike a few times, got some stitches and more tetanus shots than I probably needed. Ran too many KMs too quickly, then ended up running no KMs for a while. Found balance by focusing on making sure my body can give what is asked of it day in and day out.
Goals for 2022: In 2022 it is all about, wait for it.....RECOVERY. I did too much too soon last year and found myself on the sidelines for a little. 2022 is about bringing things back in moderation so I can be going full gas when the time is right. The real goal is to train more, go hard and have fun.
Favorite Fluid flavor: Huge fan of chocolate but throw some Cinnamon Vanilla in an iced coffee after a workout and that is a solid days work and reward!
A song that fires you up: Master of Puppets by Metallica, but I have gotten lost in a trance listening to TOOL. Faith No More makes regular appearances when it is time to put down some serious efforts.

ROAD CYCLIST/MOUNTAIN BIKER

Accomplishments from 2021: Keeping a regular training rhythm throughout the year, and attending the Collegiate Triathlon Nationals in September which was hosted as part of the Malibu Triathlon. While an injury set me back from the performance I was expecting, I also competed in the first iteration of 70.3 Salem, and look forward to racing more at the half-iron distance after graduation this spring.
Goals for 2022: To stay healthy and consistent in training throughout the unpredictable race season that we are facing in Collegiate Triathlon. I have been struggling with an injury since last summer, but hope to get that taken care of and represent Cal Poly Triathlon at Nationals this year in Lake Lanier, Georgia. In addition to getting back into consistent running, I want to try and enter an open water swim race this year! I have swam since I was 8 years old, but have still never competed in one of these events and would love the opportunity.
Favorite Fluid flavor: Hands down Blueberry Pomegranate for Performance and Cinnamon Vanilla for Recovery.
A song that fires you up: Nothing gets me through a hard training session like 'Til I Collapse by Eminem.

SWIMMING

I'm a former NCAA Division I swimmer, 2012 Olympic Trials qualifier, and FINA Masters swimming world record holder. I’ve been with Team Fluid for several years. Like many of us, the past two years have taken a toll on my athletic endeavors with struggles to even find a place to train and the inability to compete in over 2 years. I'm excited for the opportunity to rebuild and return to racing this year.

Goals for 2022: I'm excited for the opportunity to rebuild and return to racing this year. My goals for this year are to get back into racing shape and return to my pre-pandemic times.
Favorite Fluid flavor: Mint Chocolate Recovery
