I’m a multisport athlete based in Los Angeles who has been on the Fluid Team since 2011. Originally from New Zealand, I’ve spent the last 16 years living in Southern California building a design agency with my wife and raising tour two kids. Over that time I also took up triathlon and have competed in over 100 races from Olympic Distance to Xterra to Ironman. Some of the more memorable races were competing at the Ironman World Champs in Hawaii, competing at the Xterra Worlds in Maui and 3 years on the New Zealand National team at the ITU Olympic Distance Age Group Worlds.

Last year’s highlight was competing in my first Ultra. I ran the Kodiak 50Km trail race in Big Bear Lake. The combination of elevation gain, altitude, and hot weather made for a tough but very rewarding day. I also enjoyed racing the Emerald Bay Trail Run in Lake Tahoe and mixing it up with a few high school cross country runners. You will struggle to find a more scenic course that this.

The year ahead looks a lot different for everyone. Not knowing what events will be held, postponed or canceled. Planning for late summer and fall races would be the safe bet. So far I’m set to compete at the Downieville Classic and Grizzly 100 bike races so fingers crossed these will be held. If things are still in limbo, then there may well be some epic solo adventures on the cards.

Favorite Flavor: Recovery Chocolate Wave & Mint Chocolate, Blueberry Pomegranate, Raspberry Lemonade. Mint Chocolate has now also become my kid’s favorite post-swim workout shake.

A Quote That Fires You Up: “Some sessions are stars and some are stones, but in the end, they are all rocks and we build upon them.”
