My name is Brandon García Martínez, I am 17 years old in Ensenada, Baja
California, Mexico. I am currently a High School student and XC, downhill, Enduro and road cyclist. Member of the Baja MTB team.
My goals for 2021 are to compete in the National XC Championship in Mexico 2021, Municipal XC Championship in Ensenada Baja California, UCI Jr Series XC in California, Sea Otter Classic and the California Mountain Bike Series.

My goals for 2021 are a backyard 100 miler in October as well as a number of 14er summits in Colorado.
I began running 9 years ago by listening to a “Couch to 5k” podcast. In 2015 I ran my first 50k and was introduced to the community of ultrarunning. I found Fluid Performance to be the only hydration drink I liked that didn’t bother my stomach. The following year I finished my first 100k. In 2017 I earned a DNF (did not finish) at my first 100 mile attempt. I completed a solo summit of Mount Whitney and ran a half marathon just 36 hours later to prove I was capable of hard things. I completed my first goal of 2018 to solo summit Haleakala from bottom to top 12 miles total with 3500′ elevation gain. My upcoming goals for 2018 are to attempt a 50k PR at a local trail run and to attempt a 100 mile course again and finish. To end the year I am going back to a 24 hour adventure run I tied for 4th place in 2017 and aim for that podium.

Goals for 2021 and any accomplishments & updates from 2020 - In 2020 I completed my first Century Ride, ran 2 solo half marathons (one road and one on a track), and had my first 100 mile running month since 2017. For 2021 my goal is to continue to grow as a runner and cyclist. I will be doing a 10K every day in May for Mental Health Awareness Month. I plan on running 40 miles on or before my 40th birthday (which would be my 2nd ultramarathon distance and farthest run ever). I would also like to complete a duathlon this year as well as another century ride.

I am a cyclist from Arroyo Grande, California, but am currently studying Mechanical Engineering at BYU-Idaho. I have been running and mountain biking as long as I can remember, but switched over to road cycling in 2018 and have been hooked on that ever since.
My biggest goal of 2021 is to be able to race! I was able to complete one race during 2020, LotoJa, where I finished 5th. Repeating a podium finish in LotoJa will be my main focus for 2021, while also throwing in several other smaller races throughout the season.

2020 Accomplishments: Finished Rock cobbler. Finished 58th in the BWR Cedar city. Finished 3rd at the 24 hours of frog hollow.
My goals for the 2021 season are to continue to be active in racing any local races
And to continue to be a good role model and spokesperson for all my sponsors.
This next season I will not be affiliated with a local team and will be venturing out on my own as a privateer. I hope to be successful in the racing, and plan on focusing on longer endurance MTB events as well as a few longer gravel races. If Cross is available this upcoming season, I will be attending as many as those as I can fit in as well.

Goals for 2020:
PR at the Tortoise and the Hare 50k (September 2020, Blue Ridge, GA), get involved with conservation efforts and trail maintenance, and get back to crushing miles on two feet & two wheels!

Goals for 2020 are to get healthy and make a stellar comeback to triathlon! I took some time off due to injuries but slowly getting back at it.

I run trail ultramarathons and have been a Fluid loyalist since its inception. In 2019, I won the Bear 100 miler and set course records for the Kodiak 50 miler and the Zion 100k, and was fueled by Fluid Blueberry Pomegranate from start to finish! My favorite race to date was running on local trails in the San Gabriel Mountains outside of Los Angeles, finishing second in my debut 100-miler at the Angeles Crest 100.
In 2020, I won the Sean O’Brien 50k and am training for the 74-miler Georgia Death Race in hopes to earn a Golden Ticket to run in the EPIC Western States 100 miler. I’m also planning on running the Tahoe 50 miler and the Leadville Trail 100 miler.
When not training in the Santa Monica and San Gabriel mountains in Los Angeles, I can be found working as a Nurse Practitioner for a low-income community clinic or on adventures with my two little boys and husband in Mammoth Lakes, CA, our second home.

I fell in love with triathlons after leaving my front wheel at the Morro Bay Tri in November of 2015. The experience and people were just an impeccable combination. Since then I've made the AG World Championships every year, and love letting the sport take me all over the globe!
This year I'm absolutely stoked to race worlds in Bermuda, and have a few time trial barriers that I would like to break during 2021. I'm ecstatic to start racing again and you will find me at every race I can get to in central California.

I’m a multi-sport athlete based in Los Angeles who has been on the Fluid Team since 2011. Originally from New Zealand, I’ve spent the last 16 years living in Southern California building a design agency with my wife and raising our two kids. Over that time I also took up triathlon and have competed in over 100 races from Olympic Distance to Xterra to Ironman. Some of the more memorable races were competing at the Ironman World Champs in Hawaii, competing at the Xterra Worlds in Maui and 3 years on the New Zealand National team at the ITU Olympic Distance Age Group Worlds. The last few years has been about trying new things like running ultras and competing in multi stage mountain bike races.
After a difficult year in 2020 with most races canceled, I’m excited to get back out there and take on some new challenges. In the spring I’m traveling home to New Zealand for two months to spent time with family. While I’m there I will take on some iconic races like the Cape Brett Trail Marathon and the Mt Difficulty Ascent 44km Trail race. Then back to California for some more Ultra’s in the fall. Figures crossed we’ll be getting back to normal and they will all go ahead.

Ben is a current emergency manager and also serves as a volunteer firefighter, with 12 years total in the service. He is a former career firefighter and a current volunteer for the City of Mebane, with 8 years total in the service. He became involved with the Brotherhood Ride through a friend, Dena Ali, who is also a Fluid Athlete. One of his favorite races is the Raleigh Half Ironman.
Fully recover for surgery on both elbows in 2019, increase strength totals, compete and place in a Crossfit competition, participate in the 2020 Carolina Brother bicycle ride - 650 miles across NC & SC.

I am patiently waiting for races to start up again in 2021. In the meantime you can find me swimming, biking, running, hanging with my family, or in the “back 40” of my little farm with my chickens, ducks, goats, and dog (and another horse in the near future)… which is basically what my 2020 consisted of!
After a long year of racing in 2018, which included two 70.3 distances (Wildflower and Ironman Indian Wells, placed 4th in both!) and ITU World Championships Standard Distance (Olympic non-draft) in Australia, I took a year off of intense training in 2019 to heal some physical issues that plagued me towards the end of 2018. Though I did make it down to San Luis Obispo in October to run City To Sea half marathon and enjoyed having FLUiD on the course! My goal for 2020, now that I’m healthy, is to train as much as possible during these unprecedented times and hop into the race scene as soon as it’s safe to do so!

Annie is an ultra endurance athlete living in Milwaukee, WI. In 2018, she completed the overall FKT, or fastest known time, on the 1200mi National Scenic Ice Age Trail breaking both the men's and women's record. In 2019, she completed Badwater 135 and CCC (part of UTMB), as well as the Berlin Marathon. In previous years, Annie has competed in the Leadville 100 twice, Black Canyon 100k, the Boston Marathon, New York Marathon, and many other endurance events across the nation. Annie loves to travel around the world to run, eat, and explore! She has traveled to Africa, Europe, Asia, and Australia with upcoming trips to South America and Africa once again. In 2020, Annie plans to race the marathon distance, attempting to break 3 hours. She also plans to break the overall FKT on the Arizona Trail. Besides running and traveling, Annie works as a registered dietitian in behavioral health and specifically with athletes in her own practice.

CYCLING, PARATRIATHLON, ADAPTIVE CLIMBING
I was an elite cyclist and triathlete who had the honor of representing Team USA at the ITU World Championships. But a car-on-bike crash cost me part of my right hand and my dreams of going pro. Due to my unusual injury and amputation level, I've had to develop my own adaptive devices so I could return to swimming, biking, and running safely and without pain at the level I was accustomed to. This has inspired me to go back to school to become an orthotist and prosthetist. In 2019, I was invited to attend USA Triathlon's High Performance Development Camp for Ambulatory Paratriathletes at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs where I learned new techniques that will allow me to try racing as a paratriathlete in 2020.
My goals for 2021 are to find my fitness again after another major hand surgery on top of everything else that was 2020. Hope to join a local race or two, but being fast is fun without competition too!

XC MOUNTAIN BIKING/CYCLOCROSS
Brad is a resident of the Colorado Front Range. He has been racing mountain and cyclocross bikes at a high level in Colorado and California since 2006. On the bike, Brad is known as “Ox,” a nickname given to him during a heated race finish by a competitor. When not on the mountain bike, Brad is a full-time mechanical engineer and weekend mechanic.
Brad started the 2020 season racing the 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo in Arizona. He is working to maintain a high level of fitness in anticipation of the racing starting back up mid-summer. Brad is targeting the Firecracker 50, Epic Single-Track Winter Park Series, and a tandem entry into the Breck Epic with his wife. He then plans on racing a full cyclocross season.

Dave lives in Cadillac Michigan and has been racing mountain bikes at events around the state since 2006. With the popularity of fat bikes, groomed trails, and our far share of snow, he took up fat bike riding/racing in 2015. So now he can cycle year round. He also enjoys the challenge of and competing in Spartan races.
With every event Dave had scheduled for 2020 being cancelled, he now is setting his sights on 2021 with hopes of competing in some of his favorite bike races,(Mud Sweat & Beers, Iceman Cometh Challenge) as well as competing in and earning two Spartan Trifecta’s.

In the last couple of years, I have checked off several more 50 milers as well as completed my first 100 miler in Bryce Canyon. I have podiumed a couple of trail ultras as well. My goals for 2020 are to get back into racing, once racing is back. When trail running is back on, I intend on doing more 50k’s in the summer and fall.

I am a police officer in the Chicagoland area. In my off time, I fancy myself a triathlete, swimmer, and general health, fitness, and life enthusiast.
Career highlights include: Winning a silver medal at the 2017 World Police and Fire Games, Ironman Wisconsin x2, 7 Half-Iron distance races, the American Triple T (super sprint tri Friday, traditional Olympic distance Saturday morning, bike-swim-run Olympic Saturday afternoon, half iron on Sunday), multiple USA Triathlon National Championship appearances, US Master’s Swimming National Championship medal winner, and 3 full marathon finishes. In between big races I am regular participant in local 5k, 10k and half marathon races as well as sprint and Olympic distance triathlons.
2020 was not a great year for racing, but it was a great year for training so I spent the year building a base and improving my running.

I raced outdoor motocross for around 15 years achieving success with 7 Top Texan tittles, Dunlop Gold cup, Spring championships among many others and the last few years I had Fluid in my corner helping me survive the brutal Texas heat.
4 years ago, I decided to end my career in motocross and start a new one still on 2 wheels but with a different motor my own 2 legs and even though my relationship with Fluid started in motocross I was very pleased that Richard was willing to stand behind me in this new endeavor starting at the bottom. The first didn’t include much racing just a lot of riding, training and getting prepared the second year I started racing as a CAT5 and was able to move up to a CAT4 then half way through my third year my wife was deployed to Afghanistan leaving me to be a single parent and unable to train or race. Now that she has returned safely to me I can once again start training and preparing to race.
2018 will be a rebuilding year for me and even though I will not be able to perform at the level I expect out of myself I will be training hard, attending every rally possible and promoting the product that has gotten me though countless brutal hot days training and racing.

Kyle is a speedy fast runner hailing from Colorado. In 2021 I will start with a build towards my first 100mi run (Black Hills 100) in June. The remainder of the year will remain open to pursue peak bagging and mountain shenanigans!

Gordon’s story of endurance sports is one of overcoming personal health challenges. After running 3 marathons in 2012, he was diagnosed with partial complex seizures in 2013. His competing days nearly came to an end. However, since then, he has battled back and passed his previous accomplishments through dietary and spiritual disciplines.
Gordon’s accomplishments include being a 2019 and 2021 Boston Marathon Qualifier, winner of the 12.12.12 Marathon, winner of the 2019 Rock the River Run, numerous winners of his age group, and he is a 22 Time Marathoner.
And while many 2020 races were canceled, Gordon was still able to compete. He was the founding runner of the Ruyts Foundation 22k, placed 2nd in Fredericksburg’s Fastest Mile, completed the virtual Marine Corps Half-Marathon, placed 4th in his age group in the Blue Gray Half-Marathon, and completed the Richmond Marathon for the 7th time.
Scheduled races for 2021 are the Chesapeake Strider’s Marathon and this year’s Boston Marathon if its run!

Melissa lives and trains on the trails near Santa Barbara, California. Her ‘no-quit’ attitude has earned her dozens of ultramarathon finishes, including 12 podium finishes and 4 overall wins. In 2019, Melissa was the Women's Champion at Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run. In 2021, she plans to come back strong after hip surgery in 2020 and re-qualify for the Western States at Cuyamaca 100k. This will be her 3rd year in the lottery and she’s hoping to run WS100 in 2022.

Hi, I’m Benjamin. I’m a Type 1 Diabetic and an avid cyclist. I started racing cross-country mountain bikes in 2017 and really enjoyed it, so for this year I’m planning on going heavy on the XC MTB racing during the summer. I’ll mostly be concentrating on the Mid-Atlantic Super Series races in the PA/NJ area, but I’m making plans to head to New England for a few of the Bubba Burger Trophy Series (formerly Kenda Cup East) races too, so I’m looking forward to experiencing that area of the country for the first time. I’ll still be racing cyclocross in the fall this year as well, although maybe not as many as the 15+ races I’ve done the last few CX seasons.
My goals for 2020 are based around getting back the motivation and fitness I had in 2017. The last two years were definitely not my best, but I'm excited to work towards returning to a higher level of mental and physical performance I know I'm capable of, and having Fluid in my corner is going to be a huge help!

I have been a triathlete for the past 12 or so years competing in events from sprint to full Ironman events. Some pretty significant injuries have sidelined me for the past few seasons but I am looking to get back on track and get the bug again. By far my favorite distance is 70.3 and would like to get focused back on them hopefully by the end of the season. Currently I am taking some baby steps to avoid injury by competing in the Boilermaker 15k in Utica NY, and Xterra Syracuse NY with hopes of finishing off the season strong at the Big George Triathlon festival in Lake George NY.

Shawn Bussert is a long time Ultra runner with accomplishments as top 100 in the 100k distance (2019) running 100 miles in just over fifteen hours on a treadmill to support Brave Like Gabe and his Father (2020) Shawn is now focusing his attention to gravel and endurance cycling. With racing starting in late spring of 2021 Shawn is putting in some serious time in the saddle.

ULTRA TRAIL RUNNER
Goals for 2021: My "A"race for this year the Tahoe 200 in September I've ran/completed four 100 mile races since 2018 and I've had my eye on the Tahoe 200 since I first heard about it in 2016, I had only ran a few 50k races at that time. I'm also running the PCT 50 Mile race in May, the Tushars 100k race in July and the 9 Trails 35 Mile race in November. I completed two 100 mile runs in 2020, the first was the Javelina Jundred 100 Mile race and then ran a Self-Supported 100 mile run just four weeks later on the Pacific Crest Trail from Big Bear to Wrightwood.
I absolutely love the FLUID Fresh Citrus Performance and the FLUID Mint Chocolate Recovery!! I've used them daily for years and throughout all of my runs/races. These two products are absolutely amazing and I highly recommend you give them a try!

Carl and Kristal Boni live in Colorado just outside of Boulder. They both have raced all disciplines of bikes over the last 15+ years with a primary focus on cyclocross and mountain biking, and have been huge Fluid fans pretty much the whole time! Outside of racing, they are also passionate about growing cycling through youth programs such as coaching high school MTB, junior camps, and Little Bellas. Their son, Nick, and daughter, Cate, also race all disciplines and are Fluid fans as well!

To continue rebuilding strength and flexibility in my knee after surgery I had in August of 2020. I will continue to put my faith first before anything else. Maintain a healthy balance of time with family, time training and work. Sitting out an entire year without training like your used can really mess with your head if you are not strong mentally. Knowing when to say no and knowing your limits so you do not risk injury will be another focus this year.
In remembering my WHY on running in the first place, it was due to me being an athlete as a younger man and then watching my health deteriorate as I aged into my 30’s. Now in my late 40’s I appreciate just being a healthy person in all areas of my life, not just fitness. I am grateful for having people around me who love me, who encourage me, and who are always my motivation when I am not feeling my best.
I have been so thankful to FLUID for having me as an athlete for over 10 years now. Every year the team grows, and the stories of the athletes are so different and extremely motivating and inspiring.

My Song for Tough Training Sessions: Interestingly, I have never trained with music. I just take in nature around me and listen to my breathing and stride strikes. Since I live if Southwest Florida, there is a lot of beauty to take in all year long.
Chris is a resident of San Diego, California. He has been racing triathlons since 1998, and coaching the sport with Breakaway Training since 2010. Prior to getting involved in the sport, Chris competed as a swimmer, hockey player, and volleyball player. Chris’ passion is to help other athletes achieve their triathlon dreams.
Chris has won the Mission Bay Triathlon, one of the longest running triathlons in the world, and considered by many to be the birthplace of the sport.
2020 is all about getting back on the bike and finding fitness. At the end of 2019, I suffered a broken back. After 3 months of slowly being able to function without assistance, I am back riding on the trainer and roads. This summer I hope to return to riding off-road and possibly running.
ROAD CYCLIST/MOUNTAIN BIKER
2020 is looking to be a year of refocusing and rebuilding for 2021. I plan to focus more on training to help build a bigger engine, as well as, entering some of the local training races and master division crits to help break up the training. I also plan to be more active in the local cycling community leading rides out of my local bike shop and participating in a couple of the local charity ride.

I’m Dena, a firefighter, from Raleigh, North Carolina. I have been a cyclist since 2000. I started as a mountain biker and won several local races between 2003-2009. In 2009, I started road cycling as a way to improve my endurance and strengthen my Mountain Biking. My partner Juan Pedraza and I have won the Briar Chapel Coed Duo 6 hour mountain Bike race 4 years in a row! 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014. I have also completed the Raleigh Half Ironman 3 years in a row 2013, 2014, 2015. In 2019, I look forward to competing in the Chicago Half Marathon and getting back in shape after finishing my MPA.

I’m Alex Aceino, and I am a former NCAA Division I swimmer, 2012 Olympic Trials qualifier, and FINA Masters swimming world record holder. I’ve been with Team Fluid for several years. 2019 was a rebuilding year for me after moving across the country for a new career and recovering from minor surgery. Despite some inconsistent training, I was able to set several Gulf Coast Masters swimming records including a best time in the 50-meter butterfly. My athletic goals for this coming year are to work towards qualifying for the 2020/2021 Olympic Trials in the 100 meter butterfly as I did in 2012 and narrowly missed in 2016.

This Amateur/Pro mountain bike racing team is based out of Art’s Cyclery in San Luis Obispo, CA. DESENDiT focuses primarily on Enduro/Gravity events but ultimately they aim to maximize fitness and fun on the bike, results are the bi-product.
San Jose Bicycle Club
SJBC has committed itself to the nurturing and development of beginning and junior cyclists. Members benefit from coaching and organized racing events aimed at increasing the skill, ability and enjoyment of each individual.
I train and focus on Triathlons with my wife Katharina and mainly compete in Olympic distance races but that is evolving. I have also been a rock climber since 1996 and traveled all over for climbing. Previous snowboard patrol and instructor.
2016 goals: Many! I will be doing my first 70.3 Ironman race and compete in many other local races. I intended to break my previous times and place in my age group. I would also like to return to the Grand Canyon to run the rim to rim again.
