The Nigerian Nightmare
TD Ayo-Durojaiye is a Nigerian-born running back who just wrapped up his college football career at Villanova University (leading the team to second overall in the CAA D1 Conference in rushing). Ayo-Durojaiye moved to the United States with his family just before turning three-years-old and immediately fell in love with the game of American football.
In his final season of college football in 2023, Ayo-Durojaiye tallied 444 yards on 89 carries and 8 rushing touchdowns. He also hauled in 16 catches for 169 yards and a touchdown. The versatile athlete saw plenty of action on special teams as the kick returner and a member of the kickoff team.
Over the past few months, Ayo-Durojaiye has been training to stay in shape as he awaits a call from an NFL team. He went undrafted in April after participating in the combine but was invited to both the Kansas City Chiefs’ and Chicago Bears’ rookie mini-camps where he performed well at both. For now, he did not receive a contract offer from either team at their camps, but he was encouraged to stay in shape because an opportunity may be on the horizon.
He is now on the doorsteps to breaking into the NFL.
“There’s really not much to me,” he said, when asked about where his focus is right now. “I just want to play football.”
However, football isn’t the only thing Ayo-Durojaiye is up to right now. He is also a personal trainer for 10 to 12-year-old athletes chasing their dreams of a future NFL career.
“As raw as an athlete as I was at that age,” Ayo-Durojaiye said, “If I had someone that taught me how to use my body the right way and move the right way, I could only imagine and wonder where I’d be today. That’s not for me to say, hindsight is 20/20, but what I can do is try to make an impact on the youth now and give them something to strive for.”
With a crazy schedule keeping himself in shape and making sure he’s providing a good service to his young clients, products like Fluid Electrolyte Tablets and creatine single serving packets have been huge for making sure he gets his daily nutritional needs in.
“The reason the tablets and the creatine single serving packets are so good is because I can cheat getting water in,” he said. “Mix it with something I know will taste good that’s good for my body, and it’s something that I can stretch across the whole day.”
Also, as somebody who can get a call at any time to join a team at their training camp, TD knows the portability of those products are great to take with you on the go.
TD Ayo-Durojaiye hopes to suit up for an NFL team this fall, and the only way he’ll be able to do that is to keep his body in tip-top shape.
