California Prop 65 Notice
What is California’s Prop 65?
California’s Proposition 65 (aka Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986) is a law that is exclusively found and enforced in California. The law protects the state's drinking water sources from being contaminated with chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm, and requires businesses to inform Californians about exposures to such chemicals.
It is the consumer’s right to know. The law not only applies to water, but also to consumer goods such as food, supplements, clothing, toys, household goods, and more. Warnings can be found digitally and physically on websites, packaging, restaurants, grocery stores, hotels, bars, schools, airports, hospitals, professional offices, and theme parks.

Does a Prop 65 Warning Mean a Product Is Unsafe?
No. A Prop 65 warning does not mean a product is unsafe.
There are over 800 chemicals included in Prop 65 that are actively tested and their requirements are regularly updated to allow Californian consumers to make an informed decision. Prop 65 warning thresholds are most often set at levels far below those associated with known health risks. Many of the listed substances, including trace amounts of heavy metals, can occur naturally in food and ingredients due to environmental factors such as air, soil, and water. As a result, Prop 65 warnings appear on a wide range of everyday products — including foods commonly consumed as part of a balanced diet.
